Letter written by Charles Darwin

"Dear Sir,
I have received a letter from
Dr. Asa Gray This morning, who says

pray ask Messrs Trubner to send at
once ½ a dozen copies of the (Darwins)
Orchid Book (Murray). - Will you be
so good as to attend to this.

Yours faithfully, C. Darwin. "

The book referred to in this letter is Darwin s The Fertilization of Orchids (1862); it was his first book after his famous On The Origin Of Species By Means Of Natural Selection. An interesting letter, signed at the conclusion as C Darwin and again in the body as (Darwin s)
